Abstract
The purpose of the research is to analyze the BKM exertions as a social institute that
form from, by and for society at PNPM Mandiri Perkotaan to run society participant, then
evaluate the society participant at Sungai Beringin Village in Lima Puluh Kota District. This
research has done by descriptive survey method, by doing descriptive analysis. Choosing the
research location has done by directly that is in Sungai Beringin Village according BPS data at
Lima Puluh Kota District in 2008. the population is 2.585 or 692 families with poor societies
250 families or 756 person or around 38,94% of the population. The data collecting had done by
in-depth interview method with the committee and members of BKM.
The result of the research is gotten as effort that has done to participate the societies, to
become the member of BKM, the people should be understood about activity of PNPM Mandiri
Perkotaan by socialization and increase the communication and information toward the
societies. Then the activity that has done by BKM to make the societies activity in every PNPM
Mandiri Perkotaan activities, like to function the Pemuka Adat and Ninik Mamak, to function
and increase the participate of Bundo Kanduang, to give some advice for the youth and to
optimalize the work of BKM community. But the effort that has done by BKM to make the society
to feel, have every activity which is build by PNPM Mandiri Perkotaan was not concrete. The
participate of Sungai Beringin Village society has been enough in doing PNPM Mandiri
Perkotaan, although the participate still in developing program implementation. Based on the
research the Sungai Beringin Village has been involved in every activity. The problems and
obstruction to motivate the societies participate which is from the out side of the BKM that are
some weakness of the that society itself especially Human Resources like less educated, less
creativity and also busy with their routines activities for their living. Whereas the problems from
the BKM itself that is coordination between each of BKM member.
In order to increase fully participate of society, need to research for every element and
characteristic problems which is occurred in the field. This is to get some concrete view of every
problems either personality, or physical components are linked together which could influence
the success of development programe
