ABSTRACT
This study aims to find out the effect of Locus of control and the level of education toward
auditor’s job performance using the situational leadership as a moderating variable in
the public accounting firm in West Sumatra , Riau , and Jambi . This study uses primary
data. The sources of data are obtained from the questionnaires fulfilled by the auditor .
This study focuses on the characteristics of auditors with formal education level managed
in the Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. : 17/PMK.01/2008 . The method used is
multiple linear regression analysis to test the hypothesis . The result of the study conclude
that the locus of control significantly influence the performance of auditors . The level of
education give significant effects toward auditor’s job performance. Locus of control and
the level of education simultaneously affect the auditor’s job performance . Locus of
control and the level of education toward auditor’s job performance are enhanced by the
existence of situational leadership.
