Abstract
STUDY PROGRAM UNDERGRADUATE NURSING UNIVERSITY ANDALAS APRIL 2014 Name : Elfia Pardiana BP No : 1210326037 The Relationship family’s Burden with Family’s Motivation in Caring with Member Schizophrenia In Mental Care Unit A (UPJA) RSJ. Prof. HB. Sa'anin Padang ABSTRACT Schizophrenia is a mental disorder syndrome sufferers are not able to assess the reality of the good and bad self-understanding. Families with schizophrenic family members will be isolated by the community all the time, so a family member suffering from schizophrenia to be a burden on his family. Perceived burden that mental burden, social burden, the burden of physical and financial burden. The load will have an impact on the motivation of the family in caring for patients with schizophrenia that affect the quality of care provided, and the recurrence rate of patients to receive treatment solutions. The purpose of this study to determine the relationship of family burden motivation family caring for family members with schizophrenia. Analityc survey study design was cross sectional design with a sample amounted to 86 people who performed from August 2013 to April 2014. The results of the study found a significant association between the burden of caring for families with relatives motivated family members with schizophrenia in a Life Service Unit (UPJA) RSJ. Prof. Hb. Sa'anin Padang with p-value of 0.013. The study recommends the importance of mental health education programs to families who care for patients with a history of schizophrenia in order to increase the motivation of families caring for a family member with schizophrenia so that families perceived burden is reduced.
