Abstract

ABSTRACT ISOLATION AND CHARACTERISATION OF SECONDARY METABOLITE FROM ACTIVE FRACTION OF DUKU STEM BARK (Lansium domesticum Corr) TO BRINE SHRIMPS LETHALITY BIOASSAY By: Darma Restia Rezki (0910413099) Supervised by Dr. Mai Efdi and Dr. Afrizal Isolation of triterpenoid from duku stem bark was done. Stem bark powder extracted with maceration method using hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. From the three fraction was tested its cytotoxic the highest cytotoxic was fraction of ethyl acetate. Cytotoxic test value of ethyl acetate fraction gave LC50 = 130.6171 mg/mL. Ethyl acetate fraction purified by coloumn chromatography method using silica gel as the stationary phase and hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol as the mobile phase. The isolation was white crystal and giving single spot with some kind of eluent in thin layer chromatography. Ultraviolet’s spectrum refer to presence of double bond (not conjugate) anda infrared’s spectrum show that compound have O-H, C-H, C=C, C-O stretching and specific absorban of triterpenoid is geminal dimetil. Keywords : Duku, cytotoxic, triterpenoid and Brine Shrimp Lethality Bioassay methods
