Abstract
ABSTRACT IJIME PHENOMENON IN NOVEL’S MAJUTSU WA SASAYAKU WRITTEN BY MIYABE MIYUKI; SOCIOLOGY LITERATURE Keywords: ijime, social condition of japan, sociology of literature, majutsu wa sasayaku. Ijime is an behaviour in a group of students, do something together intended to humiliate or torture to other student in psychology or mental, verbal, or physical. In Japan, it is not uncommon ijime cases end in death. In this research, the issues raised are ijime phenomena in novel’s Majutsu wa Sasayaku in 1980s. Topics on this research, discussed about ijime that occurred in Japan, therefore the writer uses sociology of literature approach, because sociology of literature is a branch of literary research is reflective and see literature as a mirror of people's lives. The method used is descriptive method of analysis. Meanwhile, to answer the research problem uses the theory of Ian Watt about the literature as a reflection of social and cultural conditions. Conclusion of this research suggests that ijime phenomena in novel’s Majutsu wa Sasayaku in 1980s as a reflection of real ijime condition in Japan. ijime found in the novel are ijime physically, socially, and verbal. While ijime cyber (electronic) not found. reflects of ijime that occur in real social life of Japanese society in the 1980s
