Abstract

7 ABSTRAK Penelitian mengenai jenis-jenis semut (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) di bangunan kampus Universitas Andalas Limau Manis Padang telah dilakukan pada bulan September 2012 sampai dengan April 2013. Metoda Baited traps dan Direct colection digunakan untuk pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan pada 12 gedung. Ditemukan sebanyak 11 jenis semut yang tergolong kedalam empat subfamili, enam tribe, dan 11 genus dengan total sampel 859 individu. Jumlah jenis yang paling banyak ditemukan pada subfamili Myrmicinae (empat jenis), sedangkan jumlah jenis yang paling sedikit pada subfamili Formicinaae dan Ponerinae (dua jenis). Sebanyak enam jenis semut yang ditemukan merupakan semut hama. Direct collection method and baited traps were used to collect ants at 12 buildings. A total of 11 species that beloging to four subfamilies, six tribes, and 11 genera and 859 individuals of ant was collected. Myrmicinae was the highet in number of spesies (four species), followed by Dolichoderinae (three species) only two species were found as Formicinae and Ponerinae.
