ABSTRACT
Objective The purpose of this study isto describe and analyzefactors thatassociatedwithwaste management at lubuk buaya market padang in 2014.
Method
This research is analytic survey research with cross sectional approach. The amount of the population are all seller that were registered in UPTD Lubuk Buaya Market Padang which were 152 seller and its sample were 54 seller. Data were collected by interviewing respondents with questionnaires and observation. Data were analyzed with chi-square (α=0,005).
Result
The results showed that waste management is less efficient (55,6%), seller had low knowledge (64,8), seller had negative bearing (53,7%), the infrastructures were not standard (51,4%),seller participation were low (59,3%), and the cleaning service were low (68,5%), chi-square results showed notsignificant association between knowledge (p value 0,09), bearing (p value 0,545), infratructures (p value 0,069) with waste management (>0,05) and significantassociation between participation (p value 0,000) and cleaning service roles (p value 0,004) with waste management (<0,005).
Conclusion
There were significant association between participation, and cleaning service roles with waste management in Lubuk Buaya Market Padang. Therefore, suggested to Lubuk Buaya Market Padang Management and related department to increase socialization and education about waste management. References : 30 (1997 – 2013)
