Abstract
ABSTRACT ISOLASI SENYAWA METABOLIT SEKUNDER DARI EKSTRAK DAUN MAHONI (Swietenia macrophylla KING) AKTIF SEBAGAI ANTIOKSIDAN Oleh : Yuli Izati (BP : 1010411007) Dibimbing oleh Bustanul Arifin, M.Si dan Dr. Afrizal Isolation of secondary metabolites from the leaf mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla KING) has been performed. Isolation is done by maceration method using the solvent n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol. Extracts from each solvent was tested with method antioxidant free radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) and the third shows the mahogany leaf extract is an antioxidant. The methanol extract was active as an antioxidant with IC50 value of 14.27 mg / L. The methanol extract was column chromatographed using a silica gel as the stationary phase and n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol as the mobile phase in the Step Gradient Polarity (SGP). Isolated compounds in the form of an amorphous off-white colored 15 mg, which provide a single stain with some eluent on thin layer chromatography. The results of the characterization of the chemical isolation and spectroscopy indicated compounds including phenolic compounds. Isolated compounds also act as an antioxidant that is classified as moderate with IC50 value of 219.1 mg /L. Keywords: Swietenia macrophylla KING, mahoni leaves, phenolic, antioxidant
