Abstract

The experiment on vegetative propagation of superior potato clone with several concentration of BAP in MS medium was conducted from February to May 2003 at tissue culture laboratory of Mapeni Indarung Padang. The objective of the experiment was to obtain the best growth and development of explant from the best clone of potato at the best concentration of plant growth regulator BAP. Treatments were arranged in Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four (4) replications. This experiment consist of two (2) factors. The first factor was clone namely: MP1, MP2, MP3, Hitam Batang, and Granola. The second factor was concentration of plant growth regulator BAP, consist of: 0 ppm, 1 ppm, 2 ppm, and 3 ppm. Explant of MP3 at Medium MS with concentration of 1 ppm BAP gave the best result to support the growth of explant indicated by the number of node, plantlet height, and number of shoot.
