Abstract

An experiment was carried out at the plant Tissue culture Lab. of Departement of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University Padang from January to May 2004. The objetive of the experiment was obtain the best media composition to promote the growth of potato microtuber. Treatments were Media MS + 90 g/l sucrose (media A), media A + 5 mg/l BAP , media A + 10 mg/l Alar , Media A + 5 mg/l BAP + 30 mg/l Aspirin, and media A + 25 mg/l coumarin. The experiment units were arranged in a Completely Randomized Design with 10 replicates. Observation included explants with the amount of tuber, tuber fresh weight, tuber dry weight, haulm fresh weight and haulm dry weight. Results indicate that combination of Media A + 10 mg/l Alar result in highest amount of tuber 3.40. Media MS + 90 g sucrose caused highes fresh weight of tuber of 2.41 g, Keyword : media, microtuber, potato, plant growth regulator
