Abstract

Reading is very important because readning can do we are clever. But, now many indonesian people doesn't like readnig. Indonesian people who live fisherman village in Kelurahan Ulak Karang Selatan Kota Padang doesn't like reading because the are poor. Poor people can't buy many books and the don't have any time for reading. We want to help people who live fisherman village. We explained for them a bout readning is very important, books of readings selection, and effective reading method. Beside that, we gave book of readings for them. After that they read a book. Afterwards they wrote down what the read. After we explained and they parcticed, we had as a conclusion namely: they understood that reading is very important, they want to be a good reader, they understood about effective reading method.
