Abstract

The composition of diurnal and nocturnal Orthoptera was studied in Indarung Padang West Sumatra. The sample were taken by using pitfall trap. In day light 4 families was sampled, and in the night 5 families. The family Gryllidae more active in the night, but Acrididae more active in the day light. The sub family Gryllinae is nocturnal, and sub family Calantopinae is diurnal.
