Abstract

In the recent publications, two different scientific names were used for a kind of "Bilih" fish from Lake Singkarak by the authors. The further species identification was aimed to clarify the confused species name of the "bilih". By observing its morphological and anatomical characteristics, "Bilih" species must be Mystacoleucus padongensis (Famili cyprinidae) not Corica goniognathus (Famili Clupeidae). M. padangensis had one hard finger and nine soft fingers on each fin, name|y, the dorsal fin (D.I.8-9), the abdominal fin (A.I.8-9), and rhe pectoral fin (P.I.8-9). There were thirty five to thirty nine scales on the lateral line and five scales on its above. Air bladder consisted of two parts which were separated by a sphincter. The maximum body length was 107 mm, with its mid value 89±10 mm.The maximum body weight was 10,5 gram, with its mid value 6,8±2,3 gram
