Abstract

Health problem faced by adolescent is very complex and variation. It is related with risk behavior, such as drugs used (narcotics, pshycotropica and others adictive substance), unwantted pregnancy, sexual transmited infection include HIV/AIDS. School Health Efforts Programme or Usaha Kesehatan Sekolah (UKS) is one of Indonesian government programme to solve that adolescent problem. At present, this programme is not going well in some schools, one of that schools is SMPN 22 Padang. UKS establishment through health education to students and teachers was held by Public Health Science Programme Study Medical Faculty Andalas University cooperate with Health Institution, specially with Nanggalo Health Center was very important to increase students health status and could give impact to student academic performance at SMPN 22 Padang. First step of this activities was UKS promotion to head master and teachers SMPN 22 Padang, was expected to increase understanding about the important of UKS and next gave support to this programme. Health promotion specifically UKS training regularly to adolescents health cadre might be increased knowledge and attitude about UKS and adolescents health problem. Continously, adolescents health cadre can give information about health and do peer counseling to other students that were monitored periodically by UKS staff at health center cooperate with lecturer at Public Health Science Programme Study Medical Faculty Andalas University.
