Abstract

Community devotion about exploiting of low economic valuable fish for making of fish ketchup is executed in place of auction of fish Gaung, Lubuk Begalung, Padang. The purposes are : 1). To give construction and training to small fisherman for the agenda of improvement of earnings of fisherman in effort for processing of fish in fermentation to yield fish ketchup, 2). To stabilize fresh fish selling price by controlling number of fresh fish sold must as according to market request, and 3). To Create various form of sale of fish for small fisherman besides fresh fish also in the form of processing fish like fish ketchup. Result from devotion to community are : 1). To add knowledge for fisherman mother in increasing quality of processing fish, diversifies processing fish and can increase earnings, 2) To make activity of this ketchup need to be continued especially concerning making continuity, institutional aspect and result marketing, 3). The housewives prefers making of fish ketchup by the way of fermentation than way of chemist, because the fisherman mothers feels less familiar by the way of chemistry and in fear of negative effect from chemicals.
