Abstract
Responses of mulch cogon grass (Imperata cylindrica L.) on yield of mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Vilczek), 'was Carried out at Plumbon Experimental and Demonstration Station of Food hods, Cirebon. It was hypothesized that there are different responses of yield of mungbean to mulching at different rates and times of aplication. The experiment consisted of two factors and three replications. Randomized Completely Blok Design in factorial i.e.,five levels of rates of mulching (0, 2, 4, 6, and 8 ton per ha) and three levels of time application (planting time, 1 week after planting and 2 weeks after planting). The different mulching dose due to different significanly on number of bearing pods per plant, number of seed per plant, on the other hand weight of a hundred seed was not effected by mulching and times of mulching aplication. The highest yield of dry seed (232.75 gr) was obtained at the optimum rate mulch (5.60 ton/ha) if the mulch was applied at planting. If mulching was applied a week after plantng,222.25 gr yield obtained, and applying mulching 2 weeks after plantng2Q9,96 was obtained.
