Abstract

The carbohydrate analysis on gambir (extract of Uncuria gambir Roxb.) found out five monosaccharides: rhamnose, mannose, arahinose, galactose, and glucose with the amount of 0.22, 0.23%, 0.38%, 0.07%, and 0.07% onsecutively. Total carbohydratc content of gambir is 2.42%. Gambir ash containt Kalium, Natrium, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Mangan, Zinc and Copper for about 2.80%, 1.96%, 0.79%, 0.58%, 0.21%, 0.20%, 0.050%, and 0.032% consecutively of the total gambir 4.50%. Cadmium, Cobalt, Chromium, Nickel and Lead are undetected. The amount of Silica in gambir ash is 10.86%.Total component that can be detected from gambir ash analysis is 17.482%.
