Abstract

The transport of Zn(II) ions from an aqueous solution into an aqueous receiving solution through a bulk liquid membrane containing a ditizone as a carrier was examined. Ion transport are started by adding 6 ml source phase that consist of Zn(II), 12 ml receiving phase that consist of NazEDTA and 20 mI membrane phase that consist of ditizone as carrier. The experiment operation technic was assisted by magnetic stirrer mixing at 340 rpm speed within 15 minutes equilibrium time. The measurement was done to both of source phase and receiving phase by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer at max 2I3.9 nm until Zn(Il) was transported to receiving phase and residu in source phase was gathered. The optimum conditions of transport were found as 3,06 x 10-4 M Zn(II) at pH 8.5 in the source phase, I,75 x 10-5 M ditizone in the liquid membrane, 0,06 M EDTA at pH 6 in the receiving phase. The maximum transport of Zn(II) ions after 3 hours was observed 93% and residu in source phase do not detect. Keywords : bulk liquid membrane, dithizone, transport Zn(II)
