Abstract

An experiment to evaluate effects of inoculation of Azotobacter sp. and nitrogen fertilizers on tomato plant was conducted in the green house of Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadja- ran University. The experiment was arranged in a factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The first factor was Azotobacter sp inoculant (i) consisted of three levels i.e. no inoculation,2.25 x 106 celts perplant, and 4.5 x 106 cells per plant. The second factor was N fertilizer (n) consisted of four levels i.e.b kg hu'', 45 kg ha-r, 90 kg har, and 135 kg ha'r. Based on result of experiment, following conclusions were drawn: L The interaction effect between Azotobacter sp. and N fertilizer was observed on Azotobacter sp.population and yield of tomato. 2. The optimum rate of N fertilizer of tomato onsoil inoculated by Azotobacter sp. was lower than that without inoculation with highest yield obtained higher.
