Abstract

Erytrosine, a common used food additive, was administered to pregnant mice to study its teratogenic potential. Dosing solution of 2,4 and g% in destilled water were available during the day 6 to l5 of pregnancy. Distilled water alone serve as the control. On the gestation day 18, the animal were killed and caesarean sections were performed. From the anomalies found no dose dependent and significanly result was record. The study in this dose range considered that erytrosine was saved to mice.
