Abstract

The agregate density and aberration of coral that used as a concrete mixture, and the stress resistance of the concrete has been examined. The coral was taken from Gunung Nago, Batang Kuranji, Pauh, Padang, consist of 88% raw type and l2o/o fine type agregate. It was found that the material density is 2.57 and the aberration is 17.029%. The tested concrete is composed of cement portland (Semen Padang), Duku Sand (standard sand) and coral with ratio l:2:3 and l:2.5:3 respectively and added by enough water, with slump height was 7 cm. The maximum age of concrete was 28 days, with stress resistance (K) 188.08 kglcm2 and 180.38 kglcmz for l:2:3 and l:2.5:3 mixtures respectively. These result fulfill the accepted specification.
