Abstract

The characteristic of V. cholerae for ctx genewere observed by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method from several hospital waste water in Padang. Antibiotic resistances were tested for twenty cultures of Vibrio chalerae by Krumperman diffusion method for l3 kinds of antibiotics. Three of V. cholerae cultutes were positives for ctx gene. The percentage of V.cholerae resistances to tetracycline, sulfamethoxazole, ampicillin, erythromycin, bacitracin, streptomycii, nalidixic acid, ceftriazone, nitrofurantoin, and gentamicin were of 95%,85%,75%, 70%, 50%,25%,25%,20% , 15%, 10% respectively. There are no cultures were resistant to chloramphenicol, norfloxacin and kanamycin. Value of Multiple Antibiotic Resistant was of 0,362. Keywords: V. Cholerae, gen ctx, resistensi antibiotik
