Abstract

In continuation of our work on the chemistry of biologically active constituens of Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait) Hassk have been isolated a new compound from n-hexane fraction of the methanolic extract of the dried leaves as a compound X. This compound were tested by :Brine Shrimps Lethality Bioassay” which give signivicant activity with LC50 11,6 µg/ml. The polyketide compound was isolated as yellowish green needles with melting point of 180-182o C. The determination of structure was carry out by spectroscopy methods.
