Abstract

An in vitro study on the effect of the aethanolic extract of vernonia cinerea (L) herbs on the rat’s uterine contraction by using biopacc tissue bath has been conducted the animal were devided into three group, a group given the extract only, that given syntocinon only as standard and that given a mixture of the extract and synctocianon respectively. Result showed that the aethanolic extract influenced uterine contraction (P<0,01). The mixture of syntocinon and extract showed partial a gorism because the average of rat’s uterine contraction showed by the mixture was lower than that due to the extract or syntocinon only.
