Abstract

An In Vitro study on the effect of the aethanolic extract of Vernonia cinerea (L) herbs on the rats uterine contraction by using biopac tissue bath has been conducted the animals were devided into three groups : a group given the extract only, that given syntocinon only as standard and that given a mixture of the extract and syntocinon respectively. Results showed that the aethanolic extract influenled uterine contraction (p < 0.01). The mixture of syntocinon and extract showed partial a gorism because the average of rat,s uterine contraction showed by the mixture was lower than that due tb the extract or syntocinon only.
