Abstract

A study on the ability of VCO as penetration enhancer in comparison to that of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) has been undertaken. Four formulas of cream containing 2 penetrants (promethazine HCl and griseofulvin) and 2 cream bases (containing 40 % VCO and 10 % DMSO) respectively were made. The profil of penetration was determined by using ranz diffusion cell (vertical type) with the mice’s skin and pH 6.4 phopsphate buffer as membrane and medium respectively.
