Abstract

This research was conducted by using questionaires to interview farmers. Farmers were selected using the method of proportionate strati{ied random sampling based on area cultivated for cocoa as follow : < 1 ha, 1-2 ha, and >2 ha. The purpose of this research were: (1) to analyze the cocoa farm using financial term and (2) to identify the constraints of cocoa farm. The result of this research showed that farmers income was too low with farm return of Rp. 794.000/ha. The constraints of cocoa farming were no application of fertilizer, PBK pest, using local varietyo and therefore the farmers do not have moti- vation to grow cocoa plants.
