Abstract

The study about several technical levels of irrigation was conducted in Kecamatan Rambatan Kabupaten Tanah Datar from November 1996 to April 1997 The objective of the study was to compare technical and economical aspects of rainfed paddy field (sawah tadah hujan), simple (sederhana), semi technical and technical irrigation. The irrigation efficiency by simple irrigation was 32 %, semi technical 34 % and technical irrigation 45 %. The production of rainfed paddy was 2,5 ton/ha, simple irrigation 3,4 ton/Ha, semi technical 3,51 ton/Ha and technical irrigation 4,35 ton/Ha. By economical aspects, the investation of irrigation is not balance with increasing of irrigation eficiency, production and farmer repayment.
