Abstract

The experiment was conducted at the IPPTP Laing, Solok, West Sumatra since March thru July 1998. The objective of the research was to evaluate the performance of Pachyrizus crop at the Yellow Red Podsolic Soil in the long dry season in 1998. The crops were planted 25 x 25 cm in spacing, 1 x 4 m in plot size and 8 replicatioons. The result showed that the weight of biomass 363,75 – 483,00 g/plant, tuber diameter 13,15 - 14,88 cm, time harvest 131,25 - 147,91days after traansplanting, weight of tuber 405 - 416 g, percentage of normal tuber 88,60 - 96,30% and yield 64,80 - 76,16 ton/ha.
