Abstract

The study of alvocado leafs extract (Persea gratissima Gaertn.) to suppresed the growth of bacteria Pseudomonas syringae pv, glycinea (Psg) in vitro was carried out from September to December 1999, at Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Universify of Padang. This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments, as follow: without alvocado leafs extract as control and various concentration alvocado leafs extract (30%, 40%, 50%, ,60% and 70%). The result indicated that paper with 30% of alvocado leaf extract did not forming barrier zone.That mean this concentration could not suppresed the growth of Psg. The application 40% and 50% shown barrier zone, but didn't exactly different with control. The application 60% and 70% shown barrier zone (1,375 mm) and exactly different with control.
