Abstract

Recovery of Co(ll) inter across two phases can be done by transporting Co(ll) through a the bulk liquid mernbrane technique. Co(ll) was transported through a liquid membrane of chloroform solution containing oxine as carrier and accepted b.v EDTA as acceptor. This such kind of a simple separation method system that Co(ll) rvas transported at neutral pH and monitored rvith AAS (Alpha Mode}",,,"1,240,7 nm). The transport capaciry'of Co(ll) w,as muchly affected by the stabiliry between phase and operational technique of the experiment. The results revealed that the transportation optimation of 20 ppm Co(il) from the source to receiver phases took place at pH 7, concentration of oxine (0.02M), volume of membran l5 ml, concentration of EDTA 0.05M in receiver and EDTA rvith pH 5'ln compliance r,vith it, equiiibrium time recorded rvas 35 minutes and concentration of Co(II) in source phase "vas 20 ppm r,vith steering tirne four hours. Co(II) transported from tire source to receiver phase under the optimum condition rvas 95.12 percent.
