Abstract
'The prawn shell (prawn waste) contains the useful constituent, namely chitin, that used in many industries, health and environmental. The isolation of chitin from the prawn shell was done by several steps, including deproteinization with NaOH 3.5% (w/v), demineralization with HCI 1.0 N, decolourized pigment by extraction chitin into chitosan was treated by deacetylation with NaOH 20% (dv).
