Abstract

The increased life expectancy among Indonesian people resulting in the increased elderly segment with the consequence of the increased incidence of degenerative diseases which as diabetes mellitus (DM), dyslipidemia hypertension and obesity with the final outeome is the increased incidence of atherosclergtic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD) reflected by the progressive increase of the rank of ASCVD as the cause of death from no.11 in l992to no.1 at the present time. Acute complications of diabetes in the elder hyploglicermia ketoacidosis, and hyperosmolar, while chronic complications ars macroangiopathy (atherosclerosis = ASCVD), microangiopathy, neuropathy, cataract, etc. Interesting feafures of ASCVD in the elderly diabetics are "silent ischemia/AMl" and cardiomyopathy. The pathogenesis of ASCVD in the elderly diabeties is closely links to several risk factors proposed as Syndrome…….
