Abstract
This article is about the institutionalization of nagari in the Javanese transmigration areas of Sitiung Kabupaten Dharmasraya of the West Sumatra. The West Sumatran government introduced the regulation No. 9/2000 to revitalize the nagari government in West Sumstra. This article discusses how was the regulation implemented in Sitiung and what were its affects on local participation.
