Abstract
The effect on setting and hardening of cement and clinker mortar by Cr(NO3)3.9H2O, Pb(NO3)2 and Cu(NO3)2.3H2O as admixtures have been investigated. Four Levels of admixtures, 0.01, 0.10, 0.50 and 1.00% by weight of cement and clinker, were added. The results indicated that the three admixtures increased the setting and the compressive strength of the mortars. Analysis of the aquoeus phases, both of cement and clinker slurries, showed that C23+, Pb2+ and Cu2+ were sorpted by cement and clinker. Therefore cement and clinker were supposed to be used for regulating heavy metals waste.
