Abstract

Determination of chemical composition of wastes trom Palm Oil Factory PTP VI Pasaman has been carried out. Solid wastes, consisted of residual ashes from bunch incineration and shell plus fibre incineration, were analysed toward water, calsium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and phosphorous. Liquid wastes, consisted of waste directly from factory effluent and effluent from wase treatment were analysed toward pH, BOD, COD as well as iron, copper, zinc and calsium contents. The ash from bunch insineration contained more water because of direct effect of open weather. The ash from shell and fibre insineration cintained less phosphorous since some of phosphorous eveporated at higher temperature of ins cineration. The waste treatment reduced the chemical contents drastically.
