Abstract

The plasticity of undergrowth plants was investigated on three diffirent age stand of Pinus merkusii Jungh et de Vriese, i.e : < 5 years age, 6 to 10 years and more than 10 years old. The observation showed that plant plasticity also occured on three undergrowth plants, i,e : Borreria alata, Ageratum houstonianum and Euphatorium riparium. Increas- ing density of pinus merkusii canopy of the 6 to 10 years and more than 10 years olds tands reduced the light intensity reaching the groun floor of the forest. This reduc- tion caused of elongated internodus, and greated leaf surface.
