Abstract

Kerinci, Dempo, singgalang, and krakatau) and their regeneration to form planlets In in vitro by using immature cotyledons explant which was conducted at Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, MAPENI, Indarung, Padang from April to October 2003. The experiment used four NAA concenfations (8, 10, 12, and 12 mg/l media) which were added to MSO. Treatyments were arranged in factorial Completely Randomized Design (5x4) with 2 factors and l0 replications. Somatic Embryos (SEs) were yielded from this testing which would be regenerated on MSO and charcoal.The result of this experimort indicated that NAA responded by all soybean varieties in forming SEs. The SEs which was yielded from all varieties that tested can be regenerated and become planlets. It can be congcluded that all soybean varieties responsive to NAA. The best NAA concentrations for SEs induction is l0 - 14 mg/l media and they are can be regenerated to form plantlets.
