Abstract

The experiment was carried out at fitopathology laboratory and screen house of Agriculture Faculty Andalas university Padang during 4 month ( Juni 2003 - September 2003). There were 3 test in this research , blotter test, germination test and seedling test. Blotter test used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 16 replications and 4 treatments. Germination test also used CRD with 8 replications and 4 treatments. Seedling test used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 8 replication and 4 treatments. The treatments were the same in all test as follow ; A 0g,B 30g, C 40g and D 50g of betel nut seed boiled in 1 litre aquades. Each test used 400 seeds. The observations were ; the percentage of infected seed, the percentage of normal germination the percentage of field emergence seedling, incubation period, the percentage of dead seedling, the height of seedling, the wetweight and dryweight of seedling. The results showed that betel nut waterboiled could decreaced the infected seed and the effective concentrate was 50 g betel nut boiled in 1 litre aquades
