Abstract

Salimpaung, a potential highland for horticulture crops, is located at Tanah Datar District in West Sumatra Province. Most of the poptulatlon is engaged in agricultural sector. Before 1970s, patatoes were a main horticulture crops planted in this area and these crops had contributed as a major income for the furmers. Nowadays, farmers are not interested in cultivating potatoes, after virus irfected the crops.
