Abstract
This research is an attempt to study ergativity in bahasa Indonesia by applying the concept of ergativity prioposed by R.M.W Dixon and Harmurti Kridalaksana. To identify, ergativity in bahasa lndonesia, the data are collected and analyzed by applying distributional method and extensifying technique. The result of the study indicates that ergativiy in bahasa Indonesia can be found on the level of lexicon, morphology and syntax (on the level of phrase and clause). Ergatiyity in bahasa Indonesia also implies that verb can be categorized into active - transitive, passive, ergative. and anti-passive/intransitive.
