Abstract
The Study of rice Production in West Sumatera it is very important. Actually the rice Production in West Sumatera always competed with the agricultural commodity namely rubber , caffee, so that the existence is worth studying to give contribution to the history of the aqricultural economy. The study concerns the factors declined influencing the rice production and the strategy to merease the rice production during the Dutch occupation in 1930- 1942. To merease the rice production them the people had turned to plant rice or back to rice supparted by the Dutch colonial government.
