Abstract

TTIF purpose of this study is to know, the developtment of tourism in Bukittinggi among 1991-1995, especially the applied of Visit Indonesia year 1991 program. This research was written based on historical method with social-cultural approach. The Government Policy to upgrade the national income was supported the growth of tourism sector with the first program "Visit Indonesia Year 1991 ". In the realize of the program, will be find the positive or negative effect for society. His study shows that the program can pushed the growth and development of tourism-skill (human resources). social economy, including the Local Government policy. So that, at least we hope the decision makers will discuss the next program for the fixture of tourism in lndonesia.
