Abstract
The purpose of this study is to know the livelihood of peasant family, especially at position and development from children and young (man and woman) culture in the border line (frontier) of west sumatra. This research was written based on historical method, heuristik (collecting data), critique (verivication), interpretation, and historiography. This study shows that the hosehold structure, system and standard of living, and also social cohesion, its significant contribution and influences in youth attitude. And the last, that historically process to give formation personality and activity in a peasant family lifes.
