Abstract

The observation for pasted type bag raw materials has been held in Operating Supplies Storage at Cement Padang Company and it shows overstock and stockout.. At present, bag raw materials inventory is not counted yet based on proper policy, this condition makes the bag raw materials inventory is not surely optimize yet. The purpose of this research is to know the bag raw materials inventory performance based on Turn Over Ratio analysis (ITO), and comparing the ITO value of this company with companies in other countries. From the comparizon result, it knows that ITO value in Cement Padang Company is not optimal yet. It signed by the ITO value of Cement Padang Company that still under the average ITO value of companies in other countries. Besides that, the purpose of this research is to give solution about inventory policy that used better to improve inventory performance with using Economic Order Quantity and Periodic Order Quantity method. Based on average inventory values for both of the methods, Periodic Order Quantity gives the optimal inventory, because this method gives lower average inventory value than the other one. This research also doing experiment using both of the methods by removed data that have constant assumption used simulation as the tools. With simulation, the optimal inventory value resulted by Economic Order Quantity method. Keywords : Inventory, Economic Order Quantity, Periodic Order Quantity, Simulation
