Abstract

Personnel planning is one of human resources management process that conducted in every organization. Before planning worker requirement, it is needed to evaluate actual workers required. Worker requirement evaluation in Packing Plant Teluk Bayur is conducted in order to know the exact number of total workers needed based on its activities. The evaluation was conducted by using Job Analysis and Work Sampling Methods. A Job Analysis is a method of gathering detailed information of specific job to provide reliable information of every single job that an organization had. This information will be very useful as an input to support decision making related to human resource problems in one company. On the other hand, work sampling was addresses to know the productivity of each worker. This value will become an input variable in assessing the exact number of workers needed. A random observation is conducted in order to have a representative value of real working conditions. As a result of this evaluation, the number of workers needed in Packing Plant Teluk Bayur is 167 person, less than total workers number that now available i.e. 210 person.
