Abstract

One way to assist a handicapped person in their daily activity is by providing them with a prosthetic hand. In general, current prosthetic hands were grouped in accesories prosthetic and functional prosthetic. Current prosthetic is generally scarry looked with low functionality and uneasy to wear by its user. One type of the prosthetic that is being continously developed is prosthetic with robotic technology.Through the application of robotic technology, it is expected that prosthetic can help people to use it more easily and its functionality can be increased. In order to make it functionals as similar as human original hand, prosthetic hand with robotic technology should have a self adaptable capability, have adequate degree of freedom, dan able to carry out several grip types. These objectives were achieved by several steps such as identification of grips types, general object features identification, observation, analysis and study of grips motion. Furthermore, design of intelligence system was conducted in order to make the robotic hand in function. Result of the study was an artificial intelligence system for prosthetic hand using robotic technology that was adaptable on a variety of grips situations and objects.
