Abstract

The experiments were to evaluate effect of supplementation phosphorus and sulphur of ammoniated rice straw on digestibility and fermentability . Digestibility was determined after 48 h incubation with rumen fluid with Tilley and Terry technique. Trial 1 was experiment to evaluated effect of phosphorus supplementation on digestibility and fermentability ammoniated rice straw. The treatment were A = ammoniated rice straw (control), B = Ammoniated rice straw + 0.2% P, C = Ammoniated rice straw + 0.4% P, and D = Ammoniated rice straw + 0. 6% P. The result of trial 1 indicated that digestibility and fermentability of ammoniated rice straw was higher than the control. The best digestibility and fermentability was attainable by supplementation of 0.4% P on DM. This best result was then used in trial 2 by supplementation of 0, 0.15, 0.3, and 0.45 Sulphur based on dry matter on digestibility and fermentability. Supplementation sulphur increased the digestibility and fermentability. Supplementation of 0.45 % sulphur increased the dry matter digestibility to 30.64 mg/l/ hour. The result showed that ammoniated rice straw with supplementation 0.4% P and 0.3% S on dry matter was better in digestibility and fermentability. Key word: : ammoniated rice straw, phodphorus, sulfur, digestibility and fermentability
