Abstract

This research is aimed to identify the effect of board characteristicsonr bank's performance, measured by return on assets and net interest margin. The units of analysis are 13 l]Banks registered on the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the period of 2003-2006. THe study results are as follow: (l) consistent to the previous research, the study found that board size is positively related to bank's performance. (2) proportion of board with banking experience is negatively related to bank's performance. (3) board meeting is positivey related with bank's performance.
