Abstract
A heartbeat measurement system has been made by using a photodiode censor and LCD based on microcontroler AT89S52. Heartbeats are measured indirectly by sensing pulsation that occurs in one of fingers hand. As the sensor is used fotodioda sensor with a light source is infra-red LED. Light is emanated by the infra-red LED will pass through fingers eg index finger and then on to fotodioda. The intensity of light received by fotodioda affected by the pulsation of blood flow that flows in the finger. Fotodioda wilL change the intensity of light it receives into electrical signals. When heart beat and conduct blood to entire body hence light infraxed will blocked by blood so that light which come up to photodiode dectease and voltage at photodiode will go up, as well as on the contrary. The tool designed is able to conduct measurement continuously and display beats and time in numbers. Designing heartbeat sensor system consists of hardware and software designs. The hardware consists of series of censor with photodiode sensor linear correlation degree R2 : 0.972, signal conditioner by using IC LM 324, minimum system of microcontoler AT89S52 and LCD series. The software is designed by using C programming and software Mide 51. The accuracy of the results obtained from comparison between manual and tool measurements obtains error precentage 0.8 %.
